Allentown Pennsylvania Food

Hunger is rising in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the state's largest city, where more than 1.5 million people are dependent on food, according to new figures obtained by the Guardian. Hunger is currently rising by 3.2 million children under five, compared to 2.6 million in 2010, with one million of them unable to feed themselves.

October will almost certainly surpass July, when 1.38 million households in the state received food boxes. Food banks distributed more than 3.5 million boxes of food, enough to feed 2.75 million people, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said.
